Exactly three years ago, I’ve uploaded my first mashup video to youtube. I used the account “BenStilller” and the name “Mashup-Germany” (delusion of grandeur?). My first production were pretty bad, but fortunately they improved over time. Soon later my youtube channel started to lift off. Within two years it had over 12 million views and this was when WMG decided to close it down due to copyright claims. Of course I was angry, I put so much work into it, but it didn’t stop me from producing mashups. True passion is true passion! Today I am supported by many labels, artists and last but not least by you guys!
mashup-germany.com has over 2000 unique visitors every day and you guys are REALLY unique! During my Mash Mob tour I’ve travelled half the world from Brazil to Russia and got to meet many of you guys. We talked and partied a lot and shared our love for music and life. To thank you guys for all that love, I’ve decided to put a Best of Mashup-Germany 2008-2011 sampler together. I chose 54 of my favourite mashups and revisited or remastered some of them. CD1 and CD2 are almost all mashups in English language. CD3 is mostly German. You can choose to either download the CDs one by one or download them all together in one big file.

Busy times! I just got back from my little US Tour and I had a great time in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York. I’m working on my BEST OF Mashup-Germany 2008-2011 Album right now, which will be released within the next few days. I think it’s time for a resume, before I restart with a new Album and Tour in 2012. Of course I will be still djing in 2011. In fact there are many new dates, so please check them out by clicking on “Events”. But now some words about this mashup. I wanted to create another typical Mashup-Germany hardcore ballad mashup thing and so I was pretty happy, when I got my hands on the Adele “Someone like you” instrumental. I combined it with the lyrics of several songs from Pink to Snow Patrol, to create a new lyrical meaning. It’s about beeing scared of losing the love of your life. Anyone of you, who has found THE BIG love, knows what I am talking about. This mashup will be on the BEST OF Sampler as bonus track, but you can also download it via the souncloud player. And no worries: the next mashups will be for the dancefloor again

A lot of terrible things happened in the last time. The most terrible event happened in Norway and my thoughts are with the family and friends of the victims. If I had an idea, I would produce a musicals tribute for the victims, but I don’t. These events are so aweful, a mashup wouldn’t fit. Another terrible news was, that Amy Winehouse passed away. I’m a big fan of her music and I’m also 27 years old (and hopefully will survive this year), so I’ve decided to produce a tribute mashup.
I found out in the middle of production, that amoraboy mashed “Rehab” and “Imagine” before, so all credit for that goes to him! Check out his page. He got some great tunes!
