PHOENIX hat eine 90 minütige Doku zum Thema "Generation Download - Wem gehört die Musik?" produziert, dabei wurde auch ein Interview mit mir zum Thema Mashups geführt (ab Minute 32 ca.). Die ganze Doku gibt's hier:

In den letzten Wochen sind wieder einige starke Songs veröffenlicht werden. Ganz besonders angetan hat es mir Asaf Avidan & the Mojos "One Day /Reckoning Song), sowie Far East Movement's "Dirty Bass" und Joe Garstons "Forever", dem in meinem Augen aber noch etwas fehlte. Vermasht plus ne Prise Michael Jackson, Smash Mouth und Crazytown, das klingt dann so...

"Ich will kein Engel sein" ist ein gutes Beispiel für einen Track, den ich schon vor lange Zeit begonnen, aber nie richtig fertig gestellt habe. Neun Songs von Pink Floyd über Sean Kingston bis Rammstein (bzw. Scala) sind hier zu einer recht außergewöhnlichen Kombo verschmolzen. Bestimmt nicht etwas für jedermann, aber Mashup-Germany ist eben nicht für jedermann :)
Ich freue mich übrigens riesig auf diesen Samstag. Open Air in Aurich mit den Absoluten Beginnern. Wenn ihr im Norden unterwegs seid, schaut vorbei!

Wenn ihr meine Arbeit schon etwas länger verfolgt und nicht nur "Top of the Pops 2011" kennt ;), dann wisst ihr, dass ich eine Schwäche für balladige Multimashups habe.
Wie schon in "Somebody to lean on" oder "My bitter cheap symphony" habe ich auch dieses Mal versucht aus einem Deutzend Songs eine neuen textlichen und musikalischen Kontext heraus zuarbeiten. Das klingt ziemlich trocken, aber in dem Ergebnis steckt eine Menge Herz. Das Ergebnis nennt sich "The day the music died". Viel Spaß und vielen Dank an PANOS T für das klasse Video! "

In den nächsten Tagen kommt ein etwas größerer Mashup-Release auf euch zu! "The day the music died" kombiniert ein Deutzend Artists von Eric Clapton über Mozart bis B.O.B. Audio und Videorelease in den nächsten Tagen! Um euch die Wartezeit etwas zu verkürzen, habe ich euch schon ein kleines A+B+C Mashups mitgebracht. Maroon 5's "Payphone" kam mir beim ersten Hören schon verdächtig bekannt vor und es hat nicht lange gedauert, bis ich "I miss you" von Blink 182 und The Kooks mit "Naive" im Kopf hatte. Das lustige an diesem ziemlich simplen Mashup ist, dass ich eigentlich nichts machen musste. Ich habe von "Payphone" weder Geschwindigkeit (110 BPM) noch Harmonielauf adaptieren müssen. Den Mädels wird es gefallen!

Avicii meets Michael Buble..."Feeling good" wollte ich schon immer einmal im Club zur Primetime auflegen, mit dem Original ist das aber nicht empfehlenswert, wenn man nicht einen leeren Dancefloor haben möchte. Da kam mir Avicii's "Two million" gerade recht, da es in meinen Augen ohnehin ein paar Vocals vertragen konnte. Noch ein "Who da funk" Sample dazu und fertig ist der Track! Enjoy.

"Brave new world" hat in einer etwas anderen Version bereits am Pfingstwochenende auf youFM Radiopremiere gefeiert.
Ich habe den Track nun erneut überarbeit und bin endlich mit dem Ergebnis zufrieden.
Er wird Euch beim ersten und vielleicht auch beim zweiten Hören etwas schocken, aber bitte gebt dem Track eine Chance.
Er ist textlich wie musikalisch mehrdimensionaler als das Meiste, das ich bislang gemacht habe. Insgesamt werden ein Dutzend Songs vermasht.
Von Billy Joel über Marlon Roudette bis Blink 182 - der Track vereint so einige Jahrzehnte und Genres.

Seit der Veröffentlichung des "Back to the future" Promo Mixes, werde ich mich Downloadanfragen bombadiert.
Es gab bislang deswegen keinen Download, weil ich mit dem Mix einfach nicht zufrieden war.
Ich habe die letzten zwei Monate nun alle Gigs recorded und daraus die zweite Version des Promo Mixes geschnitten.
Ich glaube es ist ziemlich EPIC.

Ich hatte angekündigt, dass ich wirklich eine Menge während der Zeit auf Tour produziert habe.
Ein weiteres Mashup, das aus Spaß im Flugzeug entstanden ist (zugegeben innerhalb von zwei Stunden), kombiniert Dada Life, Coldplay
und die guten alten Backstreet Boys auf eine sehr minimalistische Art und Weise. Enjoy.
