The German women act "Laing" is bringing in a new style into German pop music. I've combined it with a lot of different songs. It's another Mashup mainly for the German audience, but I'm sure some of you around the globe will also like it. And btw: we are not far away from Top of the Pops 2012...

Mashup und Netzkultur produziert.
Die beste mediale Zusammenfassung der Urheberrechtsproblematik, die mir bislang bekannt ist.
Ich freue mich darüber, dass ich an dem Projekt mitwirken konnte.
Das Hörspiel dauert eine knappe Stunde und jede Minute lohnt sich. Radiopremiere diesen Samstag um 18.05 Uhr auf Deutschlandradio Kultur oder hier als Podcast.

Die Digitalisierung hat Musik verflüssigt: Auch für Laien ist es heute möglich, Remixes ihrer Lieblingsmusiken zu erstellen und über das Internet ein potentielles Millionenpublikum zu erreichen. Die Teilhabe an der Kulturproduktion war nie einfacher als heute, aber auch die Gefahr, mit dem Urheberrecht in Konflikt zu geraten.

Was bedeuten die Veränderungen für die Musik: Wird die Zukunft eine Trivialisierung der Kultur mit sich bringen oder entsteht eine neue kreative Ökonomie, die die alten Strukturen der Musikindustrie überwindet?

I have one rule in my life: I do something new every day. That can be jumping out of an airplane (with a parasuit of course), walking a different way to the train station, calling for Mr.T on the airport speakers or producing a drum'n'bass mashup, which I also haven't done so far. So that's what I did. The result is more drum'n'pop, but I've tried to combine the classic Mashup-Germany style (if there is one) with elements of drum'n'bass. I took the hit "Hot right now" and combined it with almost a dozen other hits. It's not a track for everyone, but therefore I've released another three tracks today, so the chances are big that there is one you guys will actually love. If you don't like this, try "The Reggae Veldt" and now enjoy.

That was exciting. Some time ago Deadmau5 let us all watch the production of "The Veldt". Even the part where he found vocals for this (former) instrumental track via twitter.
Chris James was lucky and got picked by Deadmau5 for an unique collaberation. From the first listening on, I knew two things: this is one of the best songs of 2012 so far and I NEED TO MAKE A REGGAE VERSION! Unfortunately I didn't have any acapella sources at this time, so I was very lucky when I found the studio instrumental some days ago. I was able to extract the vocals and could finally start working on my reggae veldt...here is the result...

Oh, I'm sorry to all the Mashup-Germany fans out there, that don't speak German, but maybe here is another reason to start learning it.
The austrian artist R.A.F. 3.0 and the German rapper Marteria released a song called "Playmobil" earlier this year. I'm a big fan of that song and I was very delighted, when I got the studio acapella straight from the artists. I made two tracks: one for the dancefloor and one a little more laid back featuring Cobra Starship.

Everybody is looking for the summer hit of 2012. I just made my own. Since I'm having bad dreams involving the song "Tacata", I've decided to look for some fresh songs I would like to work with to create a light and fun summer tune. I knew pretty quick that "Good time" has to be in that mashup. Unfortunately I've only had a diy acapella. As soon as I get the studio acapella, I will revisit the track.
